About Us:
Valhalla Cards and Gifts opened for business in June of 1998 in what would become the coolest neighbourhood in the city of Toronto, the Trinity-Bellwoods area of Queen Street West.
Valhalla was quickly welcomed and accepted as an integral part of the neighbourhood and enjoys a loyal and devoted clientele. As the years passed Valhalla has become a destination store for people from all over the city as well as visitors from across the globe, some of whom are known to travel to Toronto simply to do a little shopping at Valhalla before returning to whatever far-off place they've just flown in from.
In the Stars:
Called, in some circles, the card store to the stars (in others: that store across the street from Sanko), you never know who you might see at Valhalla. Here at Valhalla, celebrities from film (some Oscar-winners), music (some Juno winners) and even stars of the theatre have been known to stop in to do their dramatic card buying, not to mention more authors than you could shake an unpublished-manuscript at. You might be surprised to bump into Tom and Katie, Brad and Angelina, Oprah, Martha, and Madonna รข we know we would, as we've never seen them here. It is a fact that the Rolling Stones have never done a secret unpublicized concert here and Elvis Costello has never recorded Live at the El Valhalla! Who do they think they are anyway? Too good to have a giant, secret concert here! hrmph! Come to think about it, Paris Hilton has never filmed a movie here and Michael Jackson has never dangled a baby out front (we're baby friendly at Valhalla).
Needless to say the list of people who've never been here is endless, so long in fact, that there's a chance you won't meet almost anyone here ever.
In the Hood:
Valhalla Cards and Gifts Inc. has partnered over the years with a number of organizations: political groups, the Metropolitan Toronto Police, business, social, and educational groups to help through hands-on participation or through donations to help make the world a little bit better, to make the sun shine just a little brighter, to make the up higher and the down a little less low.
Built on the belief that you can have a store filled with all kinds of cool things that aren't junk, Valhalla strives to find great things for it's great clientele - you know who you are. You are great, seriously. No, really, you are, but not in that arrogant, vain way. You're great in that way that when someone tells you you're great you honestly looked surprised, like Who? Moi? Really? Yeah, you're great in that way. We love you, dammit! There we've said it, we frackin' love you!
In the Online:
After much demand, Valhalla Cards and Gifts has moved into the other coolest neighbourhood, the Intern-Et. Valhalla believes the Intern-Et is sure to be an interesting alternative to real-shopping where people from Canada and the rest of the world will be able to purchase the wide selection of cards and gifts at Valhalla from the comfort of a desk-chair in a corner of their apartment or humble estate.
